The KidSafe Project Society: Providing nurturing safe havens for vulnerable inner-city children, when schools are traditionally closed.

KidSafe keeps school doors open during Winter, Spring and Summer breaks, and afterschool to over 450 referred children each year. We serve children attending six inner-city Vancouver elementary schools, all of whom have been referred to our program by their Principal, teacher or school support worker as being extremely vulnerable and most in need of safety and support during school break. Every day we are in session, KidSafe provides children with nutritious meals, support from caring adults, and developmental activities and out-trips designed to increase their capacity for healthy survival.  In our 20 year history, we have provided 1,072,500 nutritious meals and snacks and 2,502,500 hours of programming and support, absolutely free of charge.
