- If the 21.1 km Half Marathon sells out, can I register as for the Marathon and then run the 21.1 km anyway?
No. Race participation totals are based on safety factors so everyone can have a pleasant and safe experience. All products such as water, medals, t-shirts, etc are determined months ahead and calculated for the total number of participants in each event.
Should you register for the Marathon then run the 21.1 km Half Marathon, upon crossing the Finish Line you will not be given a Half Marathon medal. In addition, the timing company will register your time as DNF (Did not finish). - May I walk the events?
Yes.
For all participants in the Marathon (Walkers, Nordic, 6+ hr runners), you must register as a walker and leave at 6:00 AM.
For the 21.1 km Half Marathon, walkers and runners start at the same time.
As a walker, watch for runners coming up behind you. Please do not walk abreast and keep to the far right of the road. This will ensure that both walkers and runners can obtain their desired finish times. There is a strict 2:00pm course closure time (8 hour marathon).
- As a slow runner, may I go out with the walkers at 6:00am?
- May I pick up someone else's race package?
Yes. If you're picking up somebody's race package, you need to have your own picture ID with you. Make sure you know your friend's bib number which was sent in their confirmation email. You can also check their bib number online here.
- Where do I get my race number, t-shirt, and timing chip?
- Can I register and pick up my t-shirt and race number on event day?
- How will my race time be recorded?
Timing is by the ChampionChip System. It records the time at which you cross the mat at the Start line and when you cross the mat at the Finish line, then calculates your net time. There is no other timing system, therefore if an accurate running time is important to you, it is imperative that you have a chip.
- Where can I get a map?
Updated maps are posted here and are also included in race package. Extra copies will be available at the Brita Sports Expo. To get the most out of the event, be sure to familiarize yourself with the course. There may be changes from last year’s course.

There will be designated check points along the course with authorized course marshals that monitor the 8hr pace and (notify) runners to ensure completion within the cut off time. Sweep vehicle will be available for pick up if necessary. We thank all participants for their cooperation.
